Enough

Stare at the broken abyss, eyes clouded by heavy tears. There is no end to it. The blackness consumes, the coldness seeps in. Alone here, or so it seems. Alone, yet they surround. Nameless ghosts cry out in hunger, in despair. Every wasted life betrayed and weeping here, every endless second dragged on through meaningless expanses of time. Withered hands, hideous and violent, reaching out for something, anything, grasping at the void. A desperate, directionless greed. A seething tempest of malice and hate, clawing at that which has nothing to give. A scream echoes, yet is silent. A voice whimpers, but no one hears. A dagger tears, but no one feels. A soul is raped, but no one thinks. Through endless ages, through endless nights, through the unspeakable Eternity in which time has no sway.

It is not enough.

Crimson streams flow from Her eyes; the sacred elixir of life, the accursed bile of death. She has no name, She has no face, She has no voice, She has no tongue. She has nothing and still more is taken. She has no eyes, She has no heart, She has no lips, She has no lungs. She has nothing and yet they reach for more. She has no voice, yet she screams for an end. She has no life, yet she prays for death. Trapped in this facade, this deadly shackle, She awaits the final release. See how She weeps! See how the blood flows!

Still, it is not enough.

His soul trembles as the shadow takes hold. Mind crumbling, a sickly thing. He cries for comfort but is met with silence. A shadow looms behind Him. A nasty, salivating thing. Dark eyes of blackest hatred, trembling eyes of blackest fear. He is falling, ever falling. The ground has given way, what once was trusted now shattered to dust. Forever He plummets, heart wavering in the endless shadow. When at last the foundation is restored, its jagged teeth reveal their lust. See how He weeps! See how the shadow feeds!

Still, it is not enough.

Forbidden desire stains the pure, loathsome ashes of a kind distained and forgotten. Lies shudder through the void. Blood is shed, drained into the shadow through clutching fists. The earth weeps. Even still, the hands must reach. Endless hate, endless lust, endless greed. Those nameless ghosts whose voices lie still. Those heartless hands that ever reach for more. Gaze upon their folly. Gaze upon this world they have created, this mindless cage of craven lust. This pulsating, writhing pit of Hell. This endless void of malice and greed. She screams out for an end, for freedom, for Her. He cries out for safety, for refuge, for Him. The hands do not stop. The hands will never stop. The hands can never stop. Ever reaching, ever craving. They fill their searing void with corpses and bile. Voices die, their truths devoured. Nameless ghosts whisper in vain; forgotten faces consumed by the shadow.

It will never be enough.
