Forbidden One

By Aria Eliot

Eye awakes from the abyss
Flesh restored by undeath's kiss
Fearful murmurs cloud the air
The earth groans beneath his stare
Forbidden One lifts his head
Gaze upon him and you're dead
He cannot hate nor love nor care
He can only wallow in despair
Enchanted music, sleep's delight
Cursed beings snuff the light
The music fades as silence grows
The silence dies as all time slows
Forbidden One blinks his eye
His form obscured by clouded skies
Dæmons emerge from shadowed pits
They revel and dance and lose their wits
Children hide from the fearsome sight
Not long before it snuffs out all light
Shrouded figures, the book of sin
Blasphemous words to sear your skin
Forbidden One takes a step
The Earth is shattered in one breath
The planet falls beneath his might
Wings outstretch as he takes flight
Screams are stilled as all life dies
Faith and truth were naught but lies
Fire and ash explode in plumes
Mother Gaia closes her womb
Forbidden One leaves us all behind
The universe is his to find
The emptiness will make him whole
There's nowhere here he cannot go
Lifeless worlds and dying stars
He starts to lust for life like ours
Our life is gone, purged by fire
Nothing left but ash and mire
He cries in sorrow for all he destroyed
His screams only echo in the void
He only wished to be set free
To do his will with lust and glee
The world is gone now, there's no return
His actions caused it all to burn
Forbidden One alone and free
Forbidden One, could you not see?
Your passions swallowed world and all
Your might and grace seem oh so small
Forbidden One, many we are
Floating here, this pit of tar
Forbidden One, open your eye
Your waking might was the only lie
